My boyfriend and I went on a ride at the funfair called hearts and diamonds, its where you stand in a circled cage, it spins round and the g force keeps you to the edge.
We have both been on similar rides and never felt any pain, it felt like someone was pulling our heart muscles, we found it hard to breathe as we both in terrible pain.
We had quite a few drinks the night before, so wanted to know if this was the reason our bodies not cope with the g- force, when normally we would be ok.

That is a very interesting question. The chest pain could have been from blood pooling in your extremities and, as a result, poor blood flow back to the heart. When the heart doesn’t get sufficient blood flow to its muscles you get angina. Usually your adrenaline will be enough to tighten your blood vessels and get blood back to the heart, but on a ride like that adrenaline might not be enough. The breathing problem could be from the g-forces putting extra pressure on your rib cage, making it more difficult to expand and fill the lungs with air. That could make the oxygen delivery to the heart problem worse also. The alcohol you drank the night before probably dehydrated you somewhat, lowering your blood volume, which makes you more susceptible to a lack of proper blood flow back to the heart from the body. The more blood volume you have the less likely you are to faint or experience this kind of chest pain from rides like this, or anything for that matter.
So, take home message…don’t go on these rides dehydrated.
