Silver tarnishes and diamonds are expensive.
If you can afford diamonds, you can afford a metal that doesnt tarnish.

Silver is a very soft metal and therefore not reliable enough or hard enough to ensure a stable setting for a precious stone. Its been my experience the majority of stones set in silver are usually the “semi-precious.”

You CAN have diamonds set into silver if you like. Most people, however, prefer using platinum or white gold instead because it doesn’t tarnish.

I have diamonds in white gold, looks just like silver and they are lovely. Design your own ring made of silver and put diamonds on them its been done.
