Best Way to Visually distinguish Diamonds from “CZ’s” or Cubic Zirconia’s is to look for these certain characteristics:
1) CZ’s have a tendency to look “too perfect.” No visible blemishes
2) Most Diamonds have a natural color tint to them. Most commonly yellow to yellow brown. Put the stone in question against a pure white piece of paper. The color will be noticable
3) Most Jewelry Store Quality Diamonds have natural inclusions. Look for little tiny black or dark spots. Like a pencil point. These are natural flaws in the stone.
4) Diamonds have a better refraction rate to CZ’s. In other words, they sparkle more.
