I have some old gold rings I want to sell while the price of gold is high. How do I remove the small diamonds first?

It’d probably be best to take it to a jeweler. Since all they’ll be doing is prying the gold away from the diamonds, it shouldn’t be too expensive.

If you are referring to diamond chips, they aren’t of very much value, considering you may have to pay an additional cost to have them removed.

You can buy a jewelers saw and blade and cut the stones from the ring. Or you can ask a jeweler to do this for you.
