How can I escape Blood Diamonds and find one inexpensively that is not terrorist affiliated etc?

I want a diamond for my engeagement but I’ve known for a long time what harm diamonds do(or any gem for that matter) not only by causing chaos in certain societies but also by killing the environment by all the extracting solutions and chemicals that get into the earth.
