There is no one answer. Diamonds are lumped into several broad categories. The first split is industrial or gem grade. Clarity and color affect the price. The unit value of a diamond goes up as the size of the diamond goes up (contrary to most things for sale). Rough diamonds do not have an agreed upon ’set’ value. Each exchange is negotiated.

a gem grade 1kt diamond could be valued at less than $1000 or more than $30,000 depending on clarity, cut and color. raw uncut stones are worth considerably less.
