whats the difference between laboratory grown diamonds and natural diamonds?

you see ads for laboratory grown diamonds all the time and they are a lot cheaper than regular natural ones. But they claim to be qual too…and the reviews are all great. They say you can’t tell with out being a jewler with a microscope…is any of this true? Whats the diffrence?
